These Heavy Duty units come from the same prototype run we used for our own field and lab testing, not yet our full production line. That means each hook ships in a raw, unpolished stainless finish rather than the mirror-polished look our production units will eventually have. Every hook is fully deburred and safe to handle — raw is a cosmetic choice, not a shortcut on safety. The field-tested capacity doesn't change either way: it comes from the hook's geometry and PH 17-4 stainless construction, not its finish.

barqHook is designed and built by a veteran-owned small business in Spokane Valley, Washington. This first batch is limited — once it's gone, the next run will be our production-finish units.

Specifications

Quick FAQ:

• Will "raw" finish rust? No — it's still PH 17-4 stainless steel, just without the polish/passivation step. Passivation is a corrosion-resistance treatment, not a requirement for the steel to resist rust on its own; production units will get that extra step, this batch doesn't.
• Is it safe to handle? Yes — every unit is deburred. "Raw" refers to the unpolished cosmetic finish only.
• Does the raw finish affect how much it can hold? No — load capacity comes from the geometry and PH 17-4 construction, not the surface finish.
• Will it damage the tree/rock/surface I hang it on? Handled properly, no — barqHook is engineered to grip and engage surfaces, not penetrate or gouge them.
